Following my attempt at the Heart Nebula I moved on to M 45 which produced a disappointing result given the length of exposure it received. It seems the additional light pollution was more detrimental on this subject than the Heart with the strong blue nebulosity showing little detail and contrast. This blog would be lacking if I didn't show some of the less successful attempts and I think this image reveals that a pleasing result on the Pleiades is very dependent on a sky with good transparency. (sub included) Details: Megrez88 + MPCC (full frame) 14x 5 minute exposures @ iso800 with CLS in DSS, CS2 & XAT.
