While we receive some long overdue rain and the moon reduces in intensity I am making some adjustments to the mount. I have found that when trying to use the apo above 60 degrees in declination the guiding is far from happy. I'm sure this must be due to poor balance which I hope can be remedied by re-positioning things to reduce the top-heavy layout I have at present. I would like to have the apo much closer to the level of the declination axis but achieving this will probably involve some fairly major engineering and may have to wait a while.
