A run of cloudy nights showed some respite last night with a few hours of relative clarity. I decided to have a try at the Pleiades with my 300mm lens on the 450D. I was never happy that I had achieved best focus and everything soon became sopping wet with extremely heavy dewing....a certain amount appearing on the lens during the exposures despite it being fitted with a large hood. The resulting image isn't very satisfying but has picked up some of the nebulosity. Details: 300mm f5 450D@iso400. 8x 150second exposures in DSS & CS2
